"Belong / Pertenecer"

“Belong / Pertenecer” follows the path of a family forced to flee their home and their struggles to navigate the system while rebuilding their identity in a new country. Some of us came with nothing but luggage of fear and longing. Some of us were running away from something and/or looking desperately for something else, sometimes home won’t let you stay. How do we rebuild our identity in order to survive in a new country? Belong is made of two words: be and long.

“Belong / Pertenecer” sigue el camino de una familia obligada a huir de su hogar y su lucha al navegar el sistema mientras reconstruyen su identidad en un nuevo país. Algunos de nosotros venimos sólo con miedo y nostalgia como equipaje, algunos de nosotros huíamos de algo y/o buscábamos desesperadamente algo más, a veces tu hogar no te dejará quedarte. ¿Cómo reconstruimos nuestra identidad para sobrevivir en un nuevo país? La palabra pertenecer (belong) en inglés está hecha de dos palabras: be y long, que significa ser largamente.
